Mini Simmons | 5'4

Here’s my latest…  I’ve reduced the plan shape by 4” in length and width by ¾”compared to my last Mini Simmons, pulling in and rounding off the tail to aid transitions through turns.

The softened Step-Deck and chine helps keep the rails from being too boxy and maintain plenty of volume throughout the board. I’ve also kept the tail relatively thick and added a slightly spooned nose to keep the majority of volume between the feet. The Step-Deck also makes for a nice flat surface to paddle and punt about on.

Bottom contours are as follows… Hulled entry (out towards the rail) in the nose, fading into a chine, which contains a deep single concave to spiral vee through the fins

The rails blends from lifted in the nose to 60/40 through the centre into a boxier release rail out the tail. The thickness is maintained well into the nose, which work with the belly and chine to prevent bogging while performing harder turns.

This one going glassed with epoxy to keep the weight down.
